Any students who have not registered for next year classes, please come to the SSO.

**For any of the Grads who have not paid their $30 cap and gown rental fee, please come to the SSO to pay ASAP. 

**STILL MISSING BABY PICTURES FOR GRADUATION SLIDESHOW, PLEASE BRING THEM TO THE SSO ASAP!!!**

1) Encounters With Canada enrollment is open.   This is a great opportunity for students ages 14- 17 years of age.  Spend a week in Ottawa learning about your country, exploring career options and participating in loads of activities. Check the website https://www.ewc-rdc.ca/pub/en  and speak with Mrs. Bell-Gatzke for more information about registering.  A special offer is available for the Arts and Culture week August 26th – Sept 1., but there are many themes and many weeks with available spots.


2) Travel Club will be touring London, Paris and Barcelona during Easter break 2019.  The price has been locked in until the end of May.  Contact Mrs. Bell-Gatzke for more information.


3) For the next short while the Entrepreneurship 30 class will be selling beeswax products in the schools main lobby in front of the office. Listen for us in the announcements and look for our posters around the school. Find us on our facebook page or instagram called ( NBeezwax ) or call NBCHS - 306 445 6101 and ask for the Entrepreneurship 30 class. You can also contact us by email at NBCHS@lskysd.ca


4) The NBCHS Library is hosting a read with me contest. Please see posters around the school, the NBCHS Library webpage, facebook page or the NBCHS Library Twitter account  for contest details. Final Submissions must be received by Thursday May 31, 2018.


5) If you are interested in SRC for 2018-2019, applications for grade representatives can be picked up at the SSO.  Please see Mrs. Sack if you have any questions.


​6) Anyone interested in attending the YAS Summer Basketball School in August please see Mr. Gibson in the Middle Years Gym.​


7) Scholarship season has arrived!  Be sure to be checking the website for newly posted scholarship opportunities.  Most are due mid-May….hurry hard!​

​NORTH BATTLEFORD COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION, 2018
February 2:  Grad meeting in the Lecture Theatre during period 3. There is a $30.00 gown rental fee for all graduating students. Deadline for payment is March 30. Please pay this fee at the Student Services Office.  We will need your height for gowns. Please bring that information with your payment.
Tuesday's all year: Career talk Tuesday.  Information in announcements
January 30: Second semester begins.
March 5, 6, and 7: Cap & Gown pictures taken by Lifetouch Studios. 
March 30: Last day to have all caution fees, SRC fees and monies owing to the school to be eligible for NBCHS graduation ceremonies.  See Mr. Friesen immediately if you need to arrange a payment schedule.
May 15: Deadline Date – application for Student of the Year.
May 25: Deadline for baby/youth pictures into the SSO or to the Hand-In Folder-Grad Baby Pic 2017 on computer for the graduation ceremonies slide show. Photos must be on black construction paper. Paper will be provided @ the SSO. Mr. Wall's Communications Media Class will be preparing the slide show.
May 29 – June 1: Student vote for Valedictorian.
June 4: Undergrad Awards Night
June 5: Grad Awards Night - 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
June 21–26: Final Exams.
June 22-27: Departmental Exams.
June 27: Gym available for stage, lighting, decorations.
June 28: Grad Rehearsal – 11:00 a.m. in the gym. Grad Barbeque to follow after rehearsal @ 11:30 a.m.
June 29: GRADUATION 2018 – 1:00 P.M. – GYMNASIUM        
Pick up caps and gowns in the large Lecture Theatre (no later than 12:15 p.m. – ¾ hour before grad and return to large Lecture Theatre immediately after ceremonies).
Grad Dance 2018 – to be announced once finalized   

Grad Commitees
1. Decoration Commitee - design, prepare and put up all decorations in the gym. Extra help will be needed during grad week.  Staff contact Mrs. Klassen.
2. Theme Committee - pick theme for graduation, design invitation/announcement card. Staff contact Mrs. Rumpf.
3. Program Committee - choosing the entertainment and details for the graduation ceremony.
4. Grad Liaison(s) - attend grad dance parent committee meeting, communicate with grads on grad dance (grand march, ect.)
5.     Scholarships - staff contact is Ms. Merkowsky

 GRAD NOTES:
1.       You are responsible to check on all graduation information re: committee meetings, grad announcements, etc.
2.       All major trophies presented at the graduation ceremonies are NOT to leave the building. These trophies are for display in our trophy cases. Pictures will be taken and small keeper trophies will be awarded.

Scholarships: Register at Studentawards.com; scholarshipscanada.com – check out saskcareers.ca; NBCHS Career Development (xello). It is your responsibility to complete application forms, check criteria, and know deadline dates. Visit the Student Services Office if you require assistance.
January 15: UBC application deadline
February 15: Deadline for U of S Entrance Scholarships.
Deadline for U of S Kinesiology, Engineering, Education, Agriculture & Bioresources and Edwards School of Business.  Must have application to university completed.
February 15: U of R Admission on the spot
February 15: Deadline for Sask Polytechnic High Demand Programs: Dental Hygiene, Medical Radiologic Technology, Power Engineering, Practical Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing Program.

March 1: Deadline for U of Alberta applications
