Living Sky School Division No. 202 is seeking proposals for driver education training services for a three (3) year term starting with the 2019-2020 school year for approximately 300 students in the following communities:
  • North Battleford, Leoville, Medstead, Spiritwood, Hafford, Maymont, and Cando.

Proposal Specifications – Driver Education Ser​vices

Living Sky School Division No. 202 is seeking proposals for driver education training services for a three (3) year term starting with the 2019-2020 school year. Services are to be provided to eligible students at the following locations and based on an average estimated number of students:
  • Leoville School (Leoville, SK) 15 students
  • Medstead School (Medstead, SK) 15 students
  • Spiritwood High School (Spiritwood, SK) 30 students
  • Hafford School (Hafford, SK) 7 students
  • Maymont School (Maymont, SK) 15 students
  • North Battleford Comprehensive High School (North Battleford, SK) 190 students
  • Cando Community School (Cando, SK) 30 students
The following items are minimum requirements:
1) Classroom and in-car instruction are to commence around the start of each school year.
2) The contractor shall enroll all eligible students and ensure they receive the necessary information and in-car instruction as required by Saskatchewan Education and make all necessary arrangements with the principals and other Board officials to set up a schedule to perform these duties. Criminal record checks shall be provided to the Board for all employees or sub-contractors of the contractor.
3) The contractor agrees to comply with all current and future performance standards required by Saskatchewan Education.
4) The contractor shall post a bond with the Director of Motor Vehicles Administration as a condition of his certificate of registration and provide the Board with a copy.
5) The contractor shall supply the training cars at no cost to the Board.
6) The contractor shall license the training cars and insure them to a minimum of $2,000,000 liability.
7) The contractor shall supply equipment in the cars for in-car training which meets the standard requirements of The Vehicles Act and Regulations.
8) The contractor shall pay all operating costs of the vehicles.
9) The School will provide the classroom facilities and the use of a T.V. & V.C.R. /D.V.D. for the classroom instruction free of charge to the contractor.
10) The contractor will supply all materials required for instruction of the course and in-car training.
11) The contractor shall provide thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction and six (6) hours of in-car instruction or additional time if required by Saskatchewan Education or other Regulatory Agency.
Please quote based on cost per student: $____ per in-class hour per student; and, $_____ per in-car hour per student. The total cost per student is to combine any reasonable compensable expenses (fuel, lodging, etc.) into the student in-car and in-class rates.
