Above and Beyond Award

Deadline:  May 22, 2018

A $250 award for a SRC member.  Nominees are chosen by SRC Advisors.  The recipient will be a student who has demonstrated extra commitment to SRC sponsored activities.  Please include a paragraph on your application that outlines why you would be an excellent candidate for this award.  Applications are available at the SSO.



AMGITS Community Involvement Association Award

Deadline:  May 15, 2018

$250 awarded to a student who is involved in the community and is entering post-secondary in any health-related field.  Applications are available at the SSO.    



Association of Battlefords Realtors Award

Deadline:  May 22, 2018  

A $500 award to a student who is a relative of a Battlefords realtor.  If no such candidate apply, then the recipient will be a student pursuing a post-secondary education in some aspect of business.  Academics, attendance, and school or community involvement will be taken into consideration.  Applications are available at the SSO. 



Battleford Furniture Entrepreneurship Award

$350 award for the top Entrepreneurship graduate. 



Battleford Home Hardware Building Centre Drama Award

A $300 award to the top graduating Drama student.



Battlefords Agricultural Society Award

A $500 award for a student entering the College of Agriculture or pursuing a related agriculture post-secondary diploma/degree. Application forms are available at the SSO.



Battlefords Boys and Girls Club - Mary Friedman Memorial Scholarship

Battlefords Community Players Award

Deadline:  May 15, 2018

A $100 award for a graduate who has volunteered with BCP.  If not applicable, the award goes to a graduate who plans to attend post-secondary and excels in extracurricular drama.  Application forms are available at the SSO.



Battleford River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. Award                        

Deadline: May 15, 2018        

You must be from a BTC community and be entering a post-secondary institute in a health-related field.  Good attendance and academic standing (70%) will be considered.  The award is for $500.  Applications forms are available at the SSO.



Battlefords and District Community Foundation Inc. Supervolley Tournament Education Fund

Deadline: (local - based on volleyball participation and determined by the school - no need to apply)

$610 for a graduating senior volleyball player who is entering post-secondary in the fall.



Battlefords Dance Festival Scholarship

Deadline:  May 31, 2018

$1,000 will be granted to a grade 12 student who is registered for a minimum of 3 hours per week in any ballet, tap, and jazz school in the Battlefords.  He/She must be pursuing post-secondary education in a program of eight months or longer.  An essay explaining your involvement in school, extra-curricular activities, a brief description of the post-secondary/dance program and the reason for taking this program, as well as a reference letter must be attached.  Application forms are available in the SSO but must be returned to the address indicated on the form.



Battlefords Indian Metis Friendship Centre Award

A $250 award for an indigenous student excelling in Native Studies is available.  Applications can be picked up at the SSO.



Battleford's Local #544 Retail, Wholesale & Department Store Union Award

$1000 for a son/daughter of a member or a member themselves of RWDSU Local #544 who will be attending university or trade school.  Application forms are available at the SSO but must be dropped off at the Discovery Co-op (c/o Kathy Wohlberg).  



Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation (local)

Deadline: May 4, 2018

Bev Houk Memorial Scholarship

Bready School Scholarship

3 scholarships are available to former Bready School students who plan on attending a Canadian University.  They are $750 in value and can be deferred for up to one year.  Application forms are available at the SSO.

 


Canadian Trust Plan

Two scholarships of $6,000 are available to academically gifted, well rounded students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree in commerce, finance or business AND/OR whose parents do not have a post-secondary education or have received their post-secondary education outside of Canada.  For more information and to apply, please visit their webpage.

 


Collins Webb Scholarship

Craig Anderson Impact Scholarship

The North Battleford SaskTel Pioneers Volunteer Club is proud to offer this $500 scholarship to a student who has a positive impact on the people around them.  The recipient will be selected based on impact and character, and how they make other people's lives better.  Academics are NOT a factor in determining the winner.  Applications forms can be picked up at the SSO.



For the Love of Farming - Allan Ray Scholarship (local)

Knights of Columbus

A $500 scholarship for a student entering post-secondary institution.  Preference will be given to Knights of Columbus members, sons/daughters of a Knights of Columbus member or sons/daughters of a deceased member who was in good standing at the time of his death.  Award will be made on academic merit, extracurricular activities and need of the student.  A 500-word essay is required which outlines student activities, future goals and career plans.  Applications are available at the SSO.



Les Donnelly Scholarship

A $2,000 (AMOUNT NOT SPECIFED) scholarship based on responses to questions regarding injury prevention initiatives/activities, financial need, extra-curricular activities and academic average.  Must provide proof of enrollment in college or university.  Applications are available at the SSO.

Rosemarie & Maurice Stadnyk Leadership Scholarship

Royal Canadian Legion Scholarship, Branch #70

Applicants for this $400 scholarship must be dependents of legion members our Branch 70.  Selection is based on academic standing as well as school and community leadership and involvement.  Visit the SSO for an application.



Royal Canadian Legion Loans, Branch #70

A loan of $500 per year for up to two years is available to dependents of members of Branch #70 who are attending educational institutions beyond high school.  The loans are interest free until six months following graduation or certification from the course of studies and then is repayable at an agreed upon rate.  Application forms are available at the local Legion Branch.



Rotary Scholarship

SK Association of Student Council Advisors (SASCA)

There are 12 - $500 awards available.  These awards are available to all SK students who are now in their final year of high school in a SASCA member school (NBCHS included).  It is based on school and community involvement and requires an essay and letters.  Visit the website for more information and to apply.



Saskatchewan Career Work Education Association Award

You DO NOT have to be going to post-secondary school to apply for this $200 award.  The only requirement is that you are graduating and currently enrolled (or have been enrolled) in a CWEX course.  You must also be on track to pass the course.  See Miss Merkowsky for further detail. 



SK Drama Association Scholarship

An amount of $1,000 will be given to a student continuing education at a post-secondary institution with a major area of study in theatre/drama or theatre/drama education program.  You must have a 75% average and be a member of the SK Drama Association.  See the website for more details.

 

 

Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists

Saskatchewan Pulse Growers

SPG has 5 scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in the fall in a Saskatchewan-based post-secondary agriculture program. To be eligible for one of these scholarships, the student or the student's parent(s) must be an active pulse producer in Saskatchewan (i.e. he/she has sold a Saskatchewan-grown pulse crop in the last two crop years).  Students must have a 70% minimum, be accepted in a full time Saskatchewan post-secondary program associated with the pulse industry, submit a transcript and write a 500-word essay.  For more information and to apply, visit their website.

Stoik Family Memorial Scholarship

Two scholarships of $1,000 are available.  The recipient must display high integrity and citizenship, have good grades, contribute to the well-being of the school and/or community and be in need of financial support.   Students of aboriginal ancestry are encouraged to apply, as one scholarship is set aside specifically for those of indigenous ancestry.  The recipient must attend university and confirmed acceptance is required.  Applications available at the SSO.
