Following Their Voices
As a grad coach, my responsibilities are keeping students accountable for their attendance, assisting in course selection and timetabling, career counselling, credit tracking, student advocacy and goal setting. I am available at 11 am daily, to meet with students and address concerns.
JA Canada has been inspiring and preparing youth to succeed by providing opportunities to learn financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness
skills with engaging programs and the help of dedicated volunteers. Teachers will be integrating several courses into their classes. Students in high school
will also have an opportunity to create a business and run it during school hours. For more information about this program check out: http://www.jacanada.org
Little Green Thumbs
Little Green Thumbs is an indoor gardening project sponsored by SaskAg. Through their provision, we are able to have an indoor garden and vermi-compost. Classroom teachers are welcome to plant and grow in connection with curriculum outcomes. Our main garden is in the front foyer, some classes have the plants in their rooms and the worms are currently living with Miss Lavoie in the grade 1/2 room. Students that take Communication Media Studies and PAA at Cando will be able to experience what it is like to run a radio station. With the help of Ms. Head, they have access to their own radio stream. If you want to tune in, check it out here: Cando Radio
