This year, 33 UCHS students took part in the two day Region 6 drama festival. Our play “In Common” is a two-act musical, written and directed by Roxane Mamer. Over the past 2 months, the group has been working hard on stage craft, as well as their singing and dancing skills.
On Friday April 16 and Saturday April 17, we welcomed Hanley, Davidson, Eston, Wilkie and UCHS.
Hanley took the top prize with McLurg placing 2nd.
UCHS had some winners, with certificates going to: Kelsey Ulsifer: Choreography, Becky Greenwald: Acting, Jonathan Neigum: Acting: Jason Keller was a surprise winner with 2 certificates: Acting and Live Music. Hannah Keller won an Acting Award of Merit for her portrayal of Estelle, Alison Ryan took home the Runner-up to Best Stage Manager; and Taylor Robertson was awarded Runner-up to the Bob Hinitt Technical award. All of our crew members were recognized with the Runner-up to Best Technical Crew.
The Drama club will be performing the two-act musical on Wednesday May 19, Thursday May 20, and Friday 21. Friday will be a dinner theatre hosted by the Unity 4-H club. Sumbitted by Roxanne Mamer.
