Learning Consultant - Arts Education and Treaty Education
Sherron Burns is an educator and artist who combines
play, curiosity and learning into all aspects of her life. Bringing artists and elders into schools has led to many
dynamic projects and innovative partnerships with teachers and community.
Whether working with junk to make an orchestra, talking about identity and
treaties using masks or learning how to braid Mother Earth’s hair, you will
find students engaged and learning through a process of inquiry and problem solving. She has worked with many diverse cultures - from Iqaluit to North Battleford, SK,
and believes the arts provide a common voice and means of expression that
breaks down all barriers and opens up space for relationships.
