The Curriculum and Instruction Department is responsible for supporting schools as they implement Saskatchewan's Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 Core Curriculum. Core Curriculum is a model of teaching and learning in which curriculum, instruction and assessment are integrated.

Support Services include:
    • Ensuring schools have access to curriculum guides and other Saskatchewan learning documents
    • The services of curriculum consultants for Language and Literacy, Arts Education, Career Education, English as an Additional Language, Assessment & Data, and First Nations & Metis Achievement
    • Design and participation in school division research projects
    • Supporting schools as they create locally developed courses of study
    • Participating in provincial curriculum initiatives and assessments
    • Planning and coordination of professional development for educators to support curriculum implementation
