LIVING SKY SCHOOL DIVISION No. 202

Living Sky School Division is situated in Northwest Central Saskatchewan. It encompasses a wide geographic area including the Battlefords, many communities, villages, First Nation communities and Hutterite colonies.

We are located in the heart of wheat and oil country. The recreational and outdoor pursuits are plentiful from camping, fishing, hunting, and water sports in the summer to downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter. The area offers a rich historical and cultural experience that is reminiscent of our past.

Currently, 29 schools are located in 18 communities. Our schools include PreK-12, elementary, high schools and alternate schools with a student population of approximately 5,700 students. Our diverse school population is reflected in a wide variety of programs that exist throughout the schools to meet the guidelines of the Saskatchewan Core Curriculum and local needs of the community.

Living Sky School Division No. 202 is a public school division.  In Public Schools of Saskatchewan we promise to form citizens who share and drive Canada’s openness, diversity and values.

The vitality and attractiveness of public school education can be summarized by these characteristics:

1. Our Mandate: We embrace our mandate to open our schools to every child, no matter where he or
she live. Our schools are open to all race, religion, economic circumstance, political outlook, intellect
and physical ability.

2. Inclusive: Children of every description and interest are educated together in an atmosphere of mutual respect. Knowledge is gained by achieving an understanding of the diverse cultures, customs
and beliefs within the school and community.

3. Governance. Every adult is entitled and responsible to participate in the government of public school education. Saskatchewan public school trustees are your neighbours, friends and colleagues. Inclusion in our governance reflects inclusion in the classroom.

We promise an intellectually welcoming environment that celebrates diversity of ethnicity, culture, thought and vision. We are joined by a central purpose – the sharing and deepening of knowledge and opportunity for the betterment of our communities, Canada and the world.

We graduate well-rounded individuals with high potential for success and leadership.
